The House of Commons of Canada offers full-time co-op placements for students looking to gain professional experience within a legislative environment. These positions are designed to provide a transformative work experience where students contribute to the administration of parliamentary services. Placements are full-time (35 hours per week) and typically last 16 weeks, with availability throughout the 2026 academic year, including the summer, fall, and winter terms.
What you'll do#
Students work collaboratively within diverse service areas of the House of Commons. You will make meaningful contributions to projects across various fields, including:
- Administrative support and client service
- Accounting, procurement, and contracting
- Communications and graphic/web design
- Engineering, computer science, and data science
- Project management
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Active registration in a co-op program.
- Fluency in both official languages (English and French) is required.
- Eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid study permit).
- Minimum age of 16.
