About the role#
The House of Commons hires co-op students for full-time placements throughout the year. These roles provide hands-on experience in a parliamentary environment. Placements last approximately 16 weeks and are available for the 2026 Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. You will work 35 hours per week on-site in Ottawa.
What you'll do#
You will contribute to various service areas within the organization. Your work will support daily operations and specific projects. Responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support and client service.
- Assisting with accounting, procurement, and contracting.
- Supporting communications, graphic design, and web design.
- Contributing to engineering, computer science, and data science tasks.
- Managing projects and supporting business administration functions.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Active registration in a co-op program.
- Fluency in both English and French.
- Proof of enrollment is required during the hiring process.
