About the role#
The BIM/VDC Intern supports the BIM Department by managing 3D model content and coordinating site logistics. You will report to the BIM Department Manager and work directly with project teams, designers, and subcontractors. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027 based in Seattle.
What you'll do#
- Receive and distribute model files from project team members and subcontractors.
- Use Navisworks Manage to clash test and publish Federated Models.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings and produce concise meeting minutes.
- Conduct jobsite inspections to compare installed conditions against model geometry.
- Perform photo documentation, reporting, and general QA/QC.
- Manage 3D model documents and assist with site logistics coordination.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
- Foundational knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks Manage, including navigation and clash detection.
- Understanding of the CSI specification system and experience reading design documents.
- Strong visual observation skills and the ability to present construction ideas clearly.
- Capability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a cooperative attitude.
- Ability to build relationships with trade and craft personnel in the field.
- A valid driver's license.

- Modality: This position is fully on-site. The schedule may require flexibility for off-shift work to accommodate construction sequences.
