About the role#
Join the HITT Futures Program as a Commercial Construction Intern. This 10-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in construction management. You will work alongside project managers and superintendents to gain insight into the daily operations of a national general contractor. The program runs from May 24, 2027, to August 5, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery by assisting project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Draft submittals, RFIs, and change orders as part of document control.
- Prepare bid packages and help evaluate subcontractor bids.
- Review construction drawings and verify site conditions.
- Assist with safety and quality control efforts on the jobsite.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related construction field.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Capacity to learn project-specific software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
