About the role#
HITT Contracting Inc. is hiring a Commercial Construction Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in construction management through mentorship and professional development. You will work on-site in Richmond, Virginia, for a 10-week period from May 24, 2027, to August 5, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery alongside project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Help with document control, such as drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Review construction drawings and verify site conditions.
- Assist in preparing bid packages and evaluating subcontractor bids.
- Aid in progress reporting for internal teams and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the full 10-week duration.
- Capability to learn project-specific software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
