About the role#
HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Commercial Construction Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Austin, Texas. You will work 40 hours per week over a 10-week period, gaining hands-on experience in construction management through mentorship and project involvement.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery by working directly with project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Handle document control processes, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Prepare bid packages and assist in soliciting subcontractor bids.
- Review construction drawings and verify site conditions.
- Assist with progress reporting and communicate updates to internal teams and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
