About the role#
Join the HITT Futures Program as a Commercial Construction Intern. This paid, 10-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in construction management. You will work alongside project managers and superintendents to learn the business of building. The program includes mentorship, professional networking, and career development courses.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery by working directly with project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Handle document control tasks such as submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Prepare bid packages and help evaluate subcontractor bids.
- Assist with jobsite duties including reviewing construction drawings, verifying site conditions, and supporting safety and quality control.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week duration.
- Capability to learn project-specific software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
