About the role#
Join the HITT Futures Program as a Commercial Construction Intern. This 10-week summer program provides hands-on experience in construction management through mentorship, professional networking, and career development courses. You will work directly with project managers and superintendents to support the delivery of commercial projects.
What you'll do#
- Support project delivery by working alongside project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, track materials, and manage project files.
- Draft submittals, RFIs, and change orders as part of document control processes.
- Assist with jobsite tasks such as reviewing construction drawings and verifying site conditions.
- Help prepare bid packages and solicit subcontractor bids.
- Aid in progress reporting for internal teams and client communications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week duration of the program.
- Capability to learn project software including Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
