About the role#
The HITT Futures Program offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in construction management. You will work alongside project managers and superintendents to gain hands-on experience in the commercial construction industry. This is a full-time, paid position based in Falls Church, Virginia, running from May 24, 2027, to August 5, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support daily project delivery tasks under the guidance of project leadership.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers while managing project files and material tracking.
- Draft submittals, RFIs, and change orders as part of document control processes.
- Assist in preparing bid packages and evaluating subcontractor bids.
- Review construction drawings and verify site conditions.
- Support safety and quality control efforts on the jobsite.
- Participate in professional development, networking events, and software training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week throughout the 10-week program.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude for learning software including Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
