About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the management of the component database, the creation of new part numbers, and the analysis of part obsolescence. You will assist hardware design teams by researching, identifying, and testing alternate component solutions. This role offers exposure to engineering development processes and helps improve communication with contract manufacturers.
What you'll do#
- Manage the component database and ensure the standardization of components within SAP and Windchill.
- Monitor REACH and RoHS component compliance.
- Perform part obsolescence analysis and identify alternate or multi-source EEE and mechanical components.
- Prepare complete component specifications for all component families.
- Collaborate with Industrialization, Localization, Procurement, Suppliers, and Subcontractors to resolve end-of-life issues.
- Streamline information transfer to contract manufacturers.
- Work with the Product HSE team to ensure regulatory compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Science, or Engineering Physics degree program.
- Completion of the third year of an undergraduate degree.
- At least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the internship concludes.
- Knowledge of key electrical and electronic component characteristics.
- Understanding of mechanical component specifications and drawings.
- Awareness of HSE requirements, including RoHS and REACH standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and apply critical thinking to resolve issues.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is considered an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid and on-site.
