HEALTH AND SAFETY SKILLBRIDGE INTERN

About the role#

This is an unpaid internship through the Hire Vets Now SkillBridge Program designed for transitioning active-duty U.S. military personnel. The program provides an opportunity to gain professional experience during the final 180 days of active-duty service. Interns work on projects alongside mentors and senior leadership, with a focus on applying existing military training and education toward a potential transition into a full-time role.

What you'll do#

• Identify hazardous workplace conditions and conduct preliminary sampling of toxic substances or hazardous forces.
• Remove hazards or protect employees by implementing guards, revising work procedures, and mandating the use of personal protective equipment.
• Ensure workplace conditions comply with federal and state occupational safety standards and labor agreements.
• Maintain required safety records and documentation.
• Participate in OSHA inspections and support any subsequent procedures.
• Investigate and prepare reports regarding workplace injuries and fatalities.
• Conduct training courses on safe work procedures.

What you'll need#

• Must be active-duty military personnel within the final 180 days of service to participate.
• Transitioning military candidates may begin the application process within the final 12 months of service.
• Education and experience requirements are dependent on the specific Program of Instruction.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
