About the role#
This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge program, specifically for transitioning active-duty U.S. military personnel within their final 180 days of service. The role focuses on training as a Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Mission Planner to support the Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) contract. Interns work closely with mentors and senior leadership to gain hands-on experience in mission planning, execution, and technical integration, preparing for potential future roles in LVC training and mission planning.
What you'll do#
- Train as an LVC Mission Planner, mastering LVC software and environment generation for scenario creation.
- Lead full mission cycles, including pre-briefs, execution, and debriefs.
- Integrate virtual simulators into live training events and conduct Modeling & Simulation (M&S), network integration, and operational tests.
- Apply AFTTP 3-1 and Joint Warfare doctrine to LVC scenarios and advise leadership on event outcomes.
- Create and disseminate Mission Planning Cell (MPC) packages and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation.
- Independently lead complex, multi-unit Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training events.
What you'll need#
- Active-duty military status within the final 180 days of service.
- LVC software experience, with a preference for LMOC-P.
- Working knowledge of AFTTP 3-1 and Joint Warfare Publications.
- Prior experience in a mission planning cell.
- Demonstrated ability to create and disseminate CONOPS and planning products per Air Force and DoD standards.
- Education/Experience requirements: Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, Master's degree with 8 years of experience, or High School diploma/equivalent with 14 years of experience.
- Current active DoD Secret clearance.
