The Hotel Hershey Pastry Intern - Summer 2026

About the role#

This internship at The Hotel Hershey provides hands-on experience in a professional pastry environment. Interns will rotate through various functions including a la carte service, bulk production for banquets, banquet execution, and morning baker shifts. Those who demonstrate interest and aptitude may also have the opportunity to learn about wedding cakes, confections, and showpieces. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position for the Summer 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Prepare pastry products and food items according to established standards for assigned areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized food production environment.
• Follow the direct guidance of the Sous Chef and Pastry Cook I.
• Control waste and adhere to all company procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Assist other areas as necessary and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Baking/Pastry Arts program or graduation from such a program within the last 6 months.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Pastry Cook I.
• Must possess your own set of knives.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including extreme heat.

Location & details#

• Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• Schedule: Requires a flexible shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a union position where schedules are determined by union seniority.
• Requirements: Employees must provide their own slip-resistant, non-skid shoes.
• Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for students working May 16 through August 8, 2026, for a weekly fee of $160, which includes utilities and limited transportation.
