The Summer 2026 Hospitality Internship Program offers college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality, food and beverage, and recreation industries. Interns will be placed at various Hershey Entertainment & Resorts properties, including The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, Hersheypark Entertainment Complex, The Chocolatier, Downtown Restaurant Group, Hershey Country Club, or Hersheypark Camping Resort. This is a full-time, paid, on-site program running from May 2026 through August 2026.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned concentration, responsibilities include:
- Food and Beverage: Supervise front-of-house operations, including staff training, inventory management, and operating procedures. Participate in projects such as menu development and program planning for concessions and seasonal events.
- Recreation: Assist in supervising recreation staff, learn aquatic skills, and facilitate daily guest activities. Note: This role may involve regular, ongoing contact with children.
- Guest Services and Housekeeping: Utilize customer communication skills to increase productivity and support company core values.
- General: Work closely with leadership to gain exposure to professional hospitality management. You will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Active enrollment in a college or university, majoring or minoring in Hospitality & Tourism, Food & Beverage, Travel & Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Prior work experience in a hospitality setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to communicate professionally, maintain composure, and provide strong customer service.
- Some positions may require a valid Driver’s License.
- Recreation interns must be willing to obtain lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certifications upon employment.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Candidates for roles involving contact with children must obtain required Pennsylvania state and federal background clearances prior to starting.
Location & details#
- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, which covers utilities and limited transportation. A $180 initial housing fee is required to cover the deposit and insurance waiver.
- Transportation: Limited transportation is provided from housing to specific properties; students at other locations are responsible for their own reliable transportation.
