Culinary Intern - Devon Seafood & Steak (Summer 2026)

About the role#

This internship at Devon Seafood & Steak focuses on developing operational capability in a high-volume scratch kitchen. Interns gain experience in knife skills, sanitation, recipe adherence, and food handling. You will work across various stations, including the hot line and prep, with rotations based on your skills and professional goals. This role is designed to teach systems that promote consistency and quality within the Downtown Restaurant Group.

What you'll do#

• Prepare entrees, appetizers, soups, sandwiches, and side items.
• Assist in general food preparation and follow written recipes and verbal directions accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with ServSafe training and State Food Safety regulations.
• Demonstrate safe handling of tools, knives, and kitchen equipment.
• Exhibit safe food handling practices and develop proficiency in operating assigned kitchen stations.

What you'll need#

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Currently enrolled in a culinary or pastry program, or a recent graduate within 6 months of applying.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, solid knife skills, and a full tool kit.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Preference for candidates with one year of industry-related food and beverage experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in extreme temperatures.

• Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 2026 – August 2026).
• Modality: On-site, full-time.
• Schedule: Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
• Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, which covers utilities and limited transportation.
