The Hotel Hershey Culinary Intern - Summer 2026

About the role#

This culinary internship at The Hotel Hershey focuses on building operational capability within a luxury resort environment. Interns work across various kitchens, receiving coaching from Sous Chefs and senior line staff while executing tasks at a professional production level. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Summer 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with ServSafe training and State Food Safety regulations.
• Demonstrate safe handling of knives, tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Exhibit consistent, safe food handling practices.
• Apply fundamental cooking techniques while actively working to advance your skills and knowledge.
• Follow verbal instructions and written recipes accurately and efficiently, seeking clarification when necessary.
• Develop proficiency in operating assigned kitchen stations.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current enrollment in a Culinary Arts program or graduation from one within the last 6 months.
• Possession of a full knife kit.
• Fundamental culinary knowledge and a demonstrated passion for the craft.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) and kitchen-related math, including weights and measures.
• Ability to work in high-volume environments, handle extreme temperatures, and perform repetitive physical motions like chopping and stirring.
• Ability to distinguish flavors, spices, and scents.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Location & details#

• Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 16 – August 8).
• This is a paid, union position requiring availability for evening and weekend hours based on seniority.
• Company-coordinated housing is available for the summer term, subject to a weekly fee and deposit.
