Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company is seeking a Guest Experience Scheduling and Training Intern for the Summer 2026 season. This role provides hands-on experience in operational support, focusing on staffing logistics and training execution for front-line teams such as Admissions and Guest Relations. Interns work under the guidance of the Assistant Area Manager of Scheduling to ensure operational efficiency and high standards of guest satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Create, manage, and distribute biweekly staff schedules for multiple Guest Experience departments.
- Utilize workforce management software (UKG) to input schedule requests, manage shift changes, and maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Monitor daily staffing reports and communicate with supervisors regarding coverage gaps or call-offs.
- Process schedule and availability changes according to departmental policies.
- Support the planning and execution of new hire orientation sessions and departmental training workshops.
- Audit employees and supervisors during operational hours to ensure compliance with department standards, hospitality interactions, and child labor laws.
- Organize and distribute training materials, standard operating procedures, and job aids.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including room reservations and material preparation.
- Observe training effectiveness and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Communications, Hospitality Management, Park and Recreation, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak to large groups.
- Ability to safeguard confidential information, including personnel data and incident reports.
- Minimum of one year of guest-facing experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Expected to work 3 days per week, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours typically range from 30-40+ hours per week from April/May through September 2026, with potential for an extension through March 2027 at 15-24 hours per week.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, walk over 1 mile per day, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and sun exposure.
- Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, which includes utilities and limited transportation. A $180 initial fee applies, consisting of a $160 refundable deposit and a $20 nonrefundable insurance waiver.
