Communications Intern

About the role#

The Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Communications Department is seeking an intern for Summer 2026. This role offers exposure to public relations and communications across various company areas, including the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex, The Hotel Hershey, and corporate services. Interns will participate in weekly staff meetings and training opportunities while gaining hands-on experience in a professional hospitality environment.

What you'll do#

• Develop written content, including media pitches, media alerts, blog posts, and social media copy.
• Research industry trends, competitors, and brands across traditional PR, social media, influencer relations, and internal communications.
• Capture and edit photo and video content for various social media channels.
• Support the team by developing media itineraries, coverage reports, and tracking media placements.
• Assist in the organization and execution of special events and media opportunities.
• Help plan seasonal content and attend media events as needed.

What you'll need#

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be entering your sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study in Fall 2026, or be a recent graduate. Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related fields.
• Must hold a valid Driver's License.
• Strong writing, speaking, editing, and research skills.
• Proficiency in Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with an interest in emerging platforms.
• Interest in content creation, including photography and video.
• Ability to multitask, detail-oriented mindset, and a team-player attitude.
• A general understanding of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company.

Location & details#

• Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• Term: Summer 2026 (mid-May through mid-August).
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week). Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
• Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, which includes utilities and limited transportation. A $180 housing fee (including a refundable $160 deposit and a nonrefundable $20 insurance waiver) is required upon commitment.
