About the role#
The Operations Intern role focuses on labor management and performance projects across our attractions. You will work closely with the Director of Workforce Management to analyze data, optimize labor, and manage projects. This position provides exposure to the daily operations of amusement parks, water parks, lodging resorts, and aquariums. You will interact with team members ranging from front-line staff to park general managers and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Analyze historical data to identify trends and indicators for future labor management.
- Develop action plans for labor efficiencies and use Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC processes to ensure execution.
- Assist the Director of Workforce Management in overseeing and managing projects.
- Prepare and present project status updates for leadership.
- Conduct system training and functionality presentations for park employees.
- Analyze compliance data to identify risks and implement measures to control violations.
- Identify process optimization opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with a good academic record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of demand-based planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to speak in front of large groups.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in data analytics, project management, or the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish or other languages are a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Homestead, Pennsylvania.
- This role is on-site and requires 70-80% travel to domestic park locations.
- You must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hours often extending beyond a standard 9 AM to 5 PM shift.
- You must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including exposure to heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
