About the role#
As a Loads and Dynamics Engineering Intern, you will support the development of our supersonic aircraft programs. You will work with the aerodynamics and structures teams to develop and refine external loads, create dynamic simulations, and validate analysis through testing and flight. This role also involves evaluating flutter behaviors to support aircraft development.
What you'll do#
- Solve structural static and dynamic problems using hand calculations, finite element analysis, or test data.
- Define external loads from flight maneuvers, gust, takeoff, and landing for use in structural design and analysis.
- Generate vehicle finite element models to assess static and dynamic load cases.
- Characterize aeroelastic effects such as flutter.
- Define random vibration environments from buffet and engine dynamics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM program at an accredited college or university, specifically as an undergraduate in your third or fourth year, or as a Master's or Ph.D. student.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Practical experience gained through internships, studies, or projects.
- A strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for aviation and the Hermeus mission.

- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately 12 weeks).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
