About the role#
As a Children's Room Specialist Intern, you will work with the Children and Youth Services Program at the Brooklyn Family Justice Center. This role involves serving children aged 2 and older through community outreach, service linkages, and direct educational support. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate early childhood and school-aged activities.
- Lead STEM projects and arts and crafts sessions.
- Provide computer literacy assistance.
- Offer homework help and educational support.
- Support the development of life skills for program participants.
What you'll need#
- A school diploma (an associate's degree is preferred).
- A creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring personality.
- A genuine interest in working with children.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A valid US driver's license is preferred.
- Academic background in Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Public Health, Nursing, or Kinesiology.
