About the role#
Heitman is seeking a rising senior to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program in the Human Resources department. This internship offers broad exposure to HR functions and operations within a global real estate investment management firm. You will work on live projects, develop professional skills, and participate in an immersive onboarding and training program. Interns also collaborate on a capstone project and have opportunities to interact with senior executives and employees across various departments.
What you'll do#
- Support core Human Resources functions including HR policies and compliance.
- Perform HRIS administration and support.
- Manage HR reporting and data.
- Handle employee programs and generalist HR tasks.
- Partner on projects related to total rewards, wellness initiatives, and engagement.
- Work on process improvement projects.
- Collaborate with your cohort on a capstone project.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior at a US based college or university.
- You are working towards a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Business, or a related field.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across departments.
- Problem solving experience that uses analytical and critical thinking skills.
- A mindset for brainstorming creative solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The role is on-site 5 days a week.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
