About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mining Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Duluth, Georgia. You will work directly with operations leaders and experienced professionals at an aggregate plant and quarry. This role requires you to work outdoors and follow all safety policies and site-specific procedures.
What you'll do#
- Support daily plant and quarry operations to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
- Analyze operational data to find process improvement opportunities.
- Partner with leadership on production, maintenance, and efficiency projects.
- Conduct site observations and contribute to safety initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on your project findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Operations Management, Engineering, Mining, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative.
- An eagerness to learn about industrial operations.
