WBAL-TV 11, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore, offers a 12-week paid internship program designed to provide hands-on professional experience in media production. This position reports directly to the Public Affairs Director and requires in-person attendance. The program is administered through a combination of group video conferences and individual shadowing experiences.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured learning program focused on television newsroom operations.
- Engage in in-person shadowing with station staff.
- Attend and participate in group video conferences.
- Support the Public Affairs department in daily operations.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior, senior, or graduate student in Communications or Journalism.
- Classroom experience in broadcast journalism and familiarity with a television newsroom.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail.
- A positive, professional attitude with the ability to demonstrate good judgment and resourcefulness.

- Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 21, 2026, to August 13, 2026).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Accrual of one hour of sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked.
