WBAL-TV Summer Internship

About the role#

WBAL-TV 11, an NBC affiliate, offers a 12-week paid internship program designed to provide hands-on professional experience in a media production environment. This role reports to the Public Affairs Director and is administered through a combination of group video conferences and individual in-person shadowing experiences.

What you'll do#

• Engage in a structured professional learning experience.
• Participate in group video conferences.
• Shadow professionals in an in-person setting.

What you'll need#

• Current status as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
• Academic background in Journalism or Communications.
• Classroom experience in broadcast journalism and preferably familiarity with a television newsroom.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
• Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment, resourcefulness, and a professional attitude.

• Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 21, 2026 to August 13, 2026).
• Modality: On-site attendance is required.
• Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
• Benefits: One hour of sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked.
