WBAL-TV 11, an NBC affiliate, offers a 12-week paid internship program designed to provide hands-on professional experience in a media production environment. This role reports to the Public Affairs Director and is administered through a combination of group video conferences and individual in-person shadowing experiences.
What you'll do#
- Engage in a structured professional learning experience.
- Participate in group video conferences.
- Shadow professionals in an in-person setting.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Academic background in Journalism or Communications.
- Classroom experience in broadcast journalism and preferably familiarity with a television newsroom.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment, resourcefulness, and a professional attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 21, 2026 to August 13, 2026).
- Modality: On-site attendance is required.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Benefits: One hour of sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked.
