About the role#
WLWT is seeking a sports intern to join the News 5 Sports team for the production of The Blitz 5. This role offers hands-on experience in sports broadcasting, focusing on high school football coverage during the fall season.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with local schools, coaches, and athletic departments.
- Gather game information, scores, and story ideas.
- Edit highlights and assist with video production.
- Create and publish content for digital and television platforms.
- Work alongside experienced sports journalists in the newsroom.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Energetic and self-motivated approach to work.
- Genuine interest in sports journalism.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with various teams and departments.
- Proficiency in editing and video production.
Location & details#
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 17 to November 13).
- Schedule: Mondays (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM), Tuesdays (8:30 AM to 10:30 AM), and Thursdays (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
