    About the role#

    This is a paid internship opportunity with WJCL 22, a Hearst Television station serving the Savannah/Hilton Head market. Interns gain hands-on experience in broadcast and digital news operations, learning how a television station functions and the roles various departments play in serving the local community.

    What you'll do#

    • Help write and produce newscasts and news stories.
    • Contribute to brainstorming and idea generation with News and Creative Services.
    • Assist with the execution of newscasts and special event planning.
    • Explore newsroom operations and gain an overview of technical station areas.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a program related to Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
    • Strong writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills.
    • Ability to work well under deadlines and handle a versatile range of topics and tasks.
    • Genuine interest in journalism, marketing, videography, writing, and editing.
    • Experience with Adobe applications, camera equipment, and newsroom systems is considered a plus.

    • Location: Savannah, Georgia (On-site).
    • Terms: Summer 2026 and Fall 2027.
