About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will join the Project Delivery Group at our Tampa office. This role focuses on applying civil and structural engineering principles to design problems within a multidiscipline project environment. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop practical, safe, and sustainable solutions.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior structural engineers with project scopes, including reinforced concrete, foundation, and structural steel designs.
- Develop engineering estimates, capital cost estimates, and repair methodologies.
- Work independently to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Design repairs for structures or components.
- Support the preparation of detailed designs and drawings based on project notes and specifications.
- Coordinate with other technicians and engineers on various projects.
- Gain practical on-site experience while supporting senior staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in civil engineering at an ABET accredited university.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design is a plus.
- Familiarity with AISC and ACI codes is beneficial.
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is an asset.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred.
- Submission of an official or unofficial transcript is required with your application.
