About the role#
As a Site/Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our Project Delivery Group in Pittsburgh. You will work on municipal and energy projects, contributing to civil scopes that include earthworks, roads, buried services, and stormwater drainage. This role involves close collaboration with senior engineers and designers to deliver technical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Perform civil, drainage, and utility assignments, including the preparation of detailed designs and drawings.
- Coordinate with technicians to design drainage and utility systems for municipal, industrial, and transportation projects.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data for project planning.
- Support senior team members with project reports, documentation, and technical tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings to solve project problems and discuss technical progress.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Understanding of design concepts for roads, earthworks, and water management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and handle new challenges.
- Engineering in Training Certification is highly desirable, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
- Basic knowledge of project management and engineering fundamentals.
