About the role#
As a Port Planning Intern, you will join the Infrastructure group in Houston. You will assist our teams with planning efforts for road, rail, and marine operations. This role involves working alongside engineers and designers to develop practical solutions for port planning challenges.
What you'll do#
- Apply planning principles to create efficient and effective project solutions.
- Conduct infrastructure planning efforts for road, rail, and marine operations.
- Collect and analyze planning and operational data.
- Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, and models.
- Assist with detailed project design and the preparation of drawings from specifications.
- Coordinate with technicians and engineers on various projects.
- Provide support to senior staff as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in urban planning, transportation planning, or engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Interest in the maritime industry, global trade, supply chain trends, and freight transportation planning.
- Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is considered an asset.
- A willingness to travel to various offices, project sites, and supplier locations.
