About the role#
Hatch is hiring a Hydropower Engineering Intern to join our Energy group. You will work from our Charlotte office to support projects focused on the development and rehabilitation of dams and hydropower facilities. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical on-site experience while working alongside senior engineers and designers.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Lead Engineer with project scopes, engineering estimates, and capital cost estimates.
- Develop repair methodologies for infrastructure projects.
- Apply engineering principles to solve design problems in a multidiscipline environment.
- Assist with detailed design preparation and support the creation of drawings from specifications.
- Coordinate tasks with other technicians and engineers.
- Provide support to senior staff as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for civil, mechanical, or hydrology and hydraulics engineering.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- A willingness to travel and work on-site, including at remote locations.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred.
