About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern in the Project Delivery Group, you will contribute to complex projects while working from our Tampa office. You will work alongside Senior Engineers and Designers to gain practical experience and support the delivery of engineering solutions. This is a full-time, paid position that requires in-office attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering calculations, including load flow and short circuit analysis.
- Prepare technical specifications for construction contracts and equipment procurement.
- Write reports for power system studies, such as arc flash analysis, transient stability, and protective device coordination.
- Support the preparation of project drawings based on detailed notes and specifications.
- Coordinate with technicians and other engineers on multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Develop your knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation and controls, SCADA, and NEC code compliance.
- Perform assignments specific to your sector and gain on-site practical experience.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering.
- An interest in controls or computer science.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to practical problems.
- A desire to learn and develop professionally.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset.
