About the role#
As a Controls & Automation Engineering Intern, you will join the Project Delivery Group to support global offices from our Pittsburgh location. You will work alongside senior engineers and designers on maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects. This is a full-time, paid internship role.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering design support for instrumentation and control systems to multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in site evaluations, data collection, and P&ID development.
- Assist in preparing equipment specifications, instrument data sheets, and functional descriptions for PLC, DCS, and HMI programming.
- Update technical documentation including motor schematics, loop drawings, and layout drawings.
- Support the preparation of detailed design drawings from specifications and notes.
- Provide on-site support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Coordinate project tasks with other technicians and engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering.
- An interest in controls or computer science.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to practical engineering problems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an aptitude for teamwork.
- A personal commitment to safety and engineering excellence.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is considered an asset.
- A transcript is required upon application.
