About the role#
As a 1st Year Intern at Harmons Grocery, you will work under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager to support patient health. Your primary goal is to ensure patients receive the correct medication and understand how to use it safely. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Holladay, Utah.
What you'll do#
- Fill and verify prescriptions while identifying potential drug interactions.
- Counsel patients on their medications and provide recommendations for over-the-counter options.
- Administer immunizations using proper technique.
- Consult with medical professionals and coordinate with doctor offices.
- Handle insurance claims and resolve related problems.
- Enter new prescriptions into the system and manage paperwork.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
- Receive and stock pharmacy products while monitoring expiration dates.
- Assist customers at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Support internal and third-party audits.
What you'll need#
- A 4-year college degree and current enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program.
- An active Utah Pharmacist Intern License and CPR certification.
- Advanced knowledge of prescription drugs, interactions, and medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy and dispensing laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic math.
- Ability to multitask and interpret complex policies.
- Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.
- Capability to handle conflict professionally and accept constructive feedback.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
