About the role#
H2M architects + engineers is looking for a student intern to join our GIS and Planning Division for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced professionals at our Parsippany, New Jersey office. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience on real projects, participate in professional development workshops, and build relationships with managers and fellow interns. The internship runs from June 7th to August 13th and may be full-time or part-time based on business needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and maintenance of various forms of GIS data.
- Support the preparation of Environmental Assessment Forms and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Organize project files and compile reports that include multiple chapters and appendices.
- Handle general administrative tasks.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a sophomore or higher in Geography, Environmental Science/Studies, Geology, Urban Planning, Engineering, Political Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Esri’s suite of GIS products, specifically ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- An eagerness to learn.

- Compensation: $19.25 to $27.00 per hour.
