About the role#
H2M architects + engineers is hiring a student intern for our GIS and Planning Division in Melville, New York. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced professionals on real projects. You will gain practical experience and participate in professional development workshops throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and maintenance of various forms of GIS data.
- Help prepare Environmental Assessment Forms and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Organize project files and compile reports that include multiple chapters and appendices.
- Perform general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a sophomore or higher in a degree program for Geography, Environmental Science or Studies, Geology, Urban Planning, Engineering, Political Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Esri’s suite of GIS products, specifically ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- An eagerness to learn.

- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7th to August 13th).
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-person internship.
- Compensation: $19.25 to $27.00 per hour.
- Employment status: Full-time.
