Student Nurse Care Partner - Float Pool - Per Diem

About the role#

As a Student Nurse Care Partner in the Float Pool, you will work alongside the patient care team to deliver support to specific patient populations. This per diem role focuses on maintaining competency across physical, communication, safety, nutritional, and psychosocial needs under the direction of an RN or LPN.

What you'll do#

• Participate in direct patient care, including lifting, turning, positioning, and mobilizing patients using safe handling equipment.
• Assist with daily living activities such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, and range of motion exercises.
• Perform clinical tasks including simple dressing changes, discontinuing foley catheters, removing peripheral IVs, administering cleansing enemas, and completing EKGs.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and specimen collection.
• Provide 1:1 observation for confused or disoriented patients and respond to call bells and patient rounding.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy environment for patients.
• Notify nursing staff immediately of any changes in a patient's condition or signs of abuse.
• Support the philosophy of the hospital and the department of nursing.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a licensed nurse program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate action.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to use telephones and computer systems effectively.
