About the role#
The Student Nurse Care Partner role provides nursing students with hands-on clinical experience within a supportive hospital environment. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, you will assist the healthcare team in delivering direct patient care to diverse populations while developing your bedside skills and clinical knowledge.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with hygiene, feeding, and activities of daily living.
- Support patient mobility by assisting with range of motion exercises, transfers, and ambulation using safe patient handling equipment.
- Document vital signs, intake and output, and other necessary patient information accurately.
- Observe patients, report changes in condition to nursing staff, and participate in 1:1 observation for safety as assigned.
- Assist with clinical support tasks such as specimen collection, simple dressing changes, and EKG performance.
- Participate in patient safety and satisfaction activities, including rounding and answering call bells.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by managing equipment and patient belongings.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited, licensed nursing education program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Location & details#
- Location: Sayre, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Per diem, with shifts varying by department. Weekend and holiday rotations may be required.
