Pharmacy Intern - Retail Pharmacy - Per Diem

About the role#

This per diem Pharmacy Intern position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting during the Summer 2026 term. Interns perform professional pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal standards.

What you'll do#

• Perform order processing, clinical evaluations, and inventory control.
• Provide drug information and manage drug distribution.
• Assist with IV compounding.
• Support operations as a pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk when necessary.
• Demonstrate growth in knowledge regarding patient status and pharmaceutical care requirements.
• Maintain competency in the differences between acute and ambulatory/home infusion patient care.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory, federal, and state compliance standards.

What you'll need#

• A valid limited intern permit to practice pharmacy in New York State.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Prior experience in an institutional pharmacy is preferred.
