About the role#
This per diem Pharmacy Intern position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting during the Summer 2026 term. Interns perform professional pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal standards.
What you'll do#
- Perform order processing, clinical evaluations, and inventory control.
- Provide drug information and manage drug distribution.
- Assist with IV compounding.
- Support operations as a pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk when necessary.
- Demonstrate growth in knowledge regarding patient status and pharmaceutical care requirements.
- Maintain competency in the differences between acute and ambulatory/home infusion patient care.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, federal, and state compliance standards.
What you'll need#
- A valid limited intern permit to practice pharmacy in New York State.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Prior experience in an institutional pharmacy is preferred.
