About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in agronomy field operations. You will support the team by monitoring crop health and assisting with daily retail agricultural tasks. This is a full-time, paid position based in Thornton, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Perform regular inspections of customer crop fields to monitor health and growth conditions.
- Use Integrated Pest Management techniques and GPS technology to identify weeds, insects, and diseases.
- Document findings with notes and photographs to create inspection reports for customers.
- Discuss your findings with agronomy specialists and customers to answer questions.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
- Attend technical training sessions and meetings as scheduled.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture and are in good academic standing.
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You hold a valid driver license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- You are able to walk through crop fields for visual inspections.
- You are comfortable working in various weather conditions and can lift 51-70 pounds.
