About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in La Porte City, Iowa. You will gain hands-on experience in agronomy and retail operations while supporting our team in providing quality service to customers. This role involves field work, equipment maintenance, and direct interaction with agronomy specialists.
What you'll do#
- Inspect customer crop fields to monitor health and identify threats like weeds, insects, and diseases.
- Use IPM techniques and GPS technology to evaluate field conditions.
- Document findings through reports and photographs.
- Discuss inspection results with customers and agronomy specialists.
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Drive a company vehicle to visit various field locations.
- Attend technical training sessions and meetings.
- Support general agricultural retail operations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of production agriculture.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel independently.
- Physical ability to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds.
- Capability to work in extreme weather conditions.
