About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Mechanicsville, Iowa. You will gain hands-on experience in agronomy and operations while working directly with customers and field staff. This position operates on a rolling basis and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Inspect customer crop fields to monitor crop health and identify weeds, insects, diseases, or other threats to yield.
- Use GPS technology and Integrated Pest Management techniques to scout fields.
- Document findings with photographs and written reports for customers and agronomy specialists.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
- Visit various locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Attend scheduled technical training sessions and meetings.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.
- You must be able to lift 51-70 pounds.
- You must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, and wet environments.
- You need the ability to walk crop fields for visual inspections.
