About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Newman, Illinois. You will work on-site to support our agronomy operations. This role focuses on field monitoring, customer service, and gaining hands-on experience in agricultural retail.
What you'll do#
- Perform regular inspections of customer crop fields to monitor health and conditions.
- Use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques and GPS technology to identify weeds, insects, diseases, and other yield threats.
- Document findings through reports and photographs.
- Discuss results with customers and agronomy specialists to provide service and answer questions.
- Drive a company vehicle to reach customer field locations.
- Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Participate in technical training sessions and meetings.
- Support agricultural retail operational duties.
- Follow all safety, compliance, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of production agriculture.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel independently to field locations.
- Ability to walk crop fields and perform visual inspections.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.
- Capacity for decision making and skill development.
