About the role#
Join us as a GROWMARK Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting agronomy operations and assisting farmer-member customers. This role is part of the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy professionals with daily operations and customer service.
- Learn about crop production, plant nutrition, and crop protection products.
- Monitor crop health through field scouting and data collection.
- Assist with agronomy trials, research projects, and field demonstrations.
- Use precision agriculture technology for scouting and data management.
- Help with product inventory, ordering, and receiving tasks.
- Build relationships by traveling to FS locations and attending grower events.
- Complete a summer internship project and present your findings.
- Participate in all program meetings, including the orientation, mid-summer, and conclusion events.
- Follow safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year university degree or certification program.
- Status as at least a second-semester junior or first-semester senior when the internship begins.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, work at heights, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Interest in agronomy and agriculture.
