About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy and operations at Gateway FS. You will work under the direction of location management during the Summer of 2027 to learn the foundations of the GROWMARK system and the agriculture industry. This role focuses on developing practical skills and completing an operational project to improve business efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Participate in all Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities and submit weekly reports.
- Attend the required orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL, on May 17-18, 2027.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Class B Non-CDL license.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work for a minimum of 9-10 weeks during the summer.
