About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations at AgVantage FS. You will train under location management during the Spring or Summer of 2027 to learn the foundations of the agriculture industry and the GROWMARK System. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build industry connections, develop practical skills, and complete an operational project focused on improving business efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Build professional relationships by visiting FS locations and customers.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Participate in all program activities, including weekly reporting and a required orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university, with good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Availability for travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work a minimum of 9 to 10 weeks during the Spring or Summer season.
