About the role#
This internship at Prairieland FS provides hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations during the Summer of 2027. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the GROWMARK System and the agriculture industry. The role involves visiting locations and customers to build professional relationships and completing an operational project designed to improve business efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control tasks.
- Submit weekly activity reports.
- Participate in all Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities, including a required orientation meeting in May 2027.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university with good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Capability to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
