About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations at AgVantage FS. You will work under location management to learn the foundations of the GROWMARK System and the agriculture industry. This role is designed to help you build professional skills and prepare for a future career in agriculture. You will participate in the Exploring Agriculture Internship Program, which includes attending an orientation meeting in Bloomington, Illinois, and submitting weekly activity reports.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Learn about ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes.
- Complete an operational project aimed at improving business efficiencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions and at various heights or elevated platforms.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Location: Thornton, Iowa.
- Term: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Minimum of 9 to 10 weeks.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
