About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations at AgVantage FS. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the GROWMARK System and the agriculture industry. The role spans the Winter and Summer of 2027, requiring a commitment of 9 to 10 weeks. You will also complete an operational project designed to improve business efficiencies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Operate technology and equipment for field research and crop scouting.
- Apply crop protection and nutrition products.
- Learn how to manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Visit locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Participate in all internship program activities, including a required orientation meeting in Bloomington, Illinois.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a university, technical college, or community college.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
