About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations at AgVantage FS. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the FS and GROWMARK system. The program runs for 9-10 weeks during the Winter or Summer of 2027. You will complete an operational project focused on improving business efficiencies and submit weekly activity reports. Attendance at an orientation meeting in Bloomington, Illinois, on May 17-18, 2027, is required.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Participate in all internship program activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing at the start of the internship.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Ability to work at various heights or on elevated platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
