About the role#
As an Agronomy Operations intern, you will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the industry. This role provides hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations to help prepare you for a future career in the field. You will work with the team at Legacy Farmers Cooperative in the Findlay, Ohio area.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general agronomy functions, including facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Perform inventory control and ordering.
- Complete an operational project aimed at improving business efficiencies.
- Submit weekly activity reports and participate in required training.
- Participate in all Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities, including a required orientation meeting on May 17-18, 2027.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university, and in good academic standing.
- Ability to obtain a CDL and a commercial applicator license with required endorsements.
- A valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and a valid medical card.
- Ability to travel independently, including overnight stays when necessary.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and work at elevated heights or platforms.
- Ability to work independently.
